Every corner of Italy is layered with cultural riches and the Ossola Valley is no exception.  But the fact that Ossola has not been trampled by global visitors and is even to a large exent undiscovered by its nearby neighbors makes it one of the most fascinating destinations these days in Europe.  One of the highlights of the annual activities offered by Canova are the organized walk-abouts for the local inhabitants to discover the many jewels hidden in the stone walls of the surrounding medieval villages. These visits, accompanied by a local architectural historian, have proved to be highly popular and it isn't unusual to find 100 people, at times huddled under umbrellas, to listen to the stories these stone villages have to tell and to enjoy a glass or two of local "Prunent" wine and some black bread and cheese.
Guided tours are also available for small groups upon request.
